Nemotek Technologie Designs a Wider Field of View Lens for Mobile Phones

New lens based on wafer-level optics combines a mini form factor with greater visibility, providing better options for consumer phones.

MOROCCO – February 16, 2010 – Nemotek Technologie, a manufacturer of customized Wafer-Level Cameras for portable applications, today launches its first two-element VGA wafer-level lens. Providing an advanced camera lens design with lower distortion, better resolution and higher image quality, the two-element lens utilizes glass wafers instead of traditional plastic. Marking the first steps in the next-generation of wafer-level lenses, Nemotek brings to market a compact, reflowable lens that provides high-end features at lower costs.

Nemotek is the first to leverage the benefits of wafer-level technology to customize a wider field of view that is up to 65 degrees with its new one-element lens while traditionally lenses tend to be limited to 60 degrees field of view.  Ideally suited for next-generation mobile phones, and more specifically, video applications, the new one-element lens features high image quality and extremely low distortion. Expanding the market for wafer-level technology, Nemotek’s new one-element lens pushes industry technological limits to obtain higher lens specifications for mobile users.

This new customized lens, currently available for customer sampling, enhances Nemotek Technologies portfolio of wafer-level optics and wafer-level cameras. The company recently debut, and is also customer sampling, its two-element lens.
